Support that fits your goals, routine, and wellbeing

NDIS supports work best when they’re organised around your priorities—not just funding categories. Supernova Medical Centre offers disability-related supports through allied health and mental health services, helping participants build capacity, strengthen day-to-day functioning, and access appropriate community and wellbeing supports.

Our NDIS & Disability Services

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for reasonable and necessary supports for eligible Australians with disability. Your plan is built around your goals and may include funding for services that support daily living, community participation, therapy supports, and capacity building.

Therapy supports and qualified providers

Where NDIS funding is used for therapy supports, services must be delivered by appropriately qualified professionals. What is suitable will depend on your needs, goals, and plan inclusions.

How your NDIS plan can be managed

There are three common ways to manage NDIS funding—self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed—and some participants use a combination across different parts of their plan.

Self-managed

You manage your funding directly and pay providers yourself, giving you flexibility in how you use your supports (in line with your plan and goals).

Plan-managed

A plan manager helps manage invoices and payments so you can focus on choosing supports and providers.

NDIA-managed

The NDIA manages payments, and participants generally access registered providers.

If you’re unsure which type you are, bring your plan summary and we can help you interpret it in practical terms.

NDIS participants, families, and carers

Supernova Medical Centre may be suitable for:
Adults seeking structured supports and community participation options
Teenagers and young people needing age-appropriate supports and stronger routines
Participants seeking counselling or psychotherapy options aligned to disability-related needs (where applicable)
Families and carers who want guidance, clarity, and support planning
We recognise that many participants have overlapping needs, including physical health, emotional wellbeing, daily functioning, and social participation. Our services are designed to support a coordinated approach to care planning.

Understanding the NDIS (clear guidance, practical next steps)

If the NDIS feels complex, you are not alone. Many participants and families find it difficult to translate plan goals into practical supports, understand service types, or decide what to do next.

How Supernova Medical Centre helps

We provide clear guidance to help you:

  • Understand plan goals and how they connect to supports
  • Clarify which service types may suit your needs (therapy, wellbeing support, community participation, coordination)
  • Identify immediate priorities and a realistic “next steps” pathway
  • Prepare for appointments, plan check-ins, or reviews

What this looks like

We start by understanding what is working, what is challenging, and what matters most to you. From there, we help map supports to goals and outline a structured pathway that is achievable and easy to follow.

Mental health support aligned to your needs

Emotional wellbeing is an important part of quality of life. Counselling and psychotherapy can provide structured, supportive sessions focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, confidence, and day-to-day functioning—especially during periods of stress, change, or overwhelm.

Areas we commonly support

  • Stress and overwhelm
  • Anxiety and low mood
  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Social anxiety and participation barriers
  • Adjustment to change (school/work transitions, health changes, family changes)

What to expect

Your first sessions focus on understanding your situation, clarifying goals, and identifying practical strategies you can apply between appointments. Support is tailored to your needs, preferences, and what is clinically appropriate.

We take a calm and respectful approach and support participants at a pace that feels manageable.

Teen & Young Support (age-appropriate, goal-based)

Teenagers and young people often face unique pressures: school demands, social stress, changing routines, and major transitions. Supports should be age-appropriate, respectful, and practical.

We may support

  • Confidence, communication, and routines
  • Emotional wellbeing and coping strategies
  • Support during transitions (school changes, work readiness, life skills)
  • Structured support planning aligned to goals
  • Family/carer guidance where appropriate (and with consent)

How we work with young people

We aim to create a supportive environment where young people feel heard and involved in their goals. Sessions are structured, practical, and aligned to what is relevant in daily life.

Coordinated support across allied health and wellbeing

Many participants benefit when supports are coordinated across services. Where appropriate, we can work alongside your existing providers so your supports remain aligned to your goals and preferences.
Our focus is on improving continuity, reducing fragmentation, and ensuring you have a clear plan for what happens next.

Evidence to support goals and planning

Depending on your pathway and needs, you may require documentation such as progress notes, support letters, or functional information to assist with planning and goal-setting.

This may assist with

  • Clarifying support needs and priorities
  • Supporting goal planning and progress tracking
  • Improving communication across providers
  • Preparing for reviews (where clinically appropriate)

Documentation type and suitability depend on the service, clinician, and your individual circumstances.

To help us support you efficiently, please bring:

  • Your NDIS plan or plan summary (if applicable)
  • Plan management type (self-managed, plan-managed, NDIA-managed)
  • A short list of your goals or what you want to improve
  • Any relevant reports, referrals, or recent assessments (if available)
  • Carer/parent details if they are involved (where appropriate)
