For most patients, the most affordable and cost-effective approach to dental care is good dental hygiene, a healthy diet and regular visits to the dentist for check-ups and cleans.
To assist in making those regular visits (and indeed all dental services) as affordable as possible, our dentists have Preferred Provider Arrangements with major health funds and some participate in government funding schemes such as Veterans’ Affairs and The Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
All of the dentists provide written estimates for all treatment plans before treatment commences so that patients are fully informed as to expected fees and charges.
Supernova Medical Centre dentist is located in highly accessible location on the Sayers Road near Wyndham Village Shopping Mall. We do have onsite huge car parking for patients with wheel-chair friendly access.
To provide best possible care to the patients we provide general dentistry such as check-ups, whitening, scales and cleans and fillings. In case, specialist treatment is required, we do refer patients to the best possible specialist.
Prior to your first appointment, the Supernova Medical Centre reception staff team will request you to complete a Medical History Questionnaire. This will assist your Dentist understand your medical history prior to commencing any dental treatment. When your Dentist is ready, your Dentist or Dental Assistant will call your name and lead you from the waiting room through to the dental surgery. The Dentist and Dental Assistant will introduce themselves and ask if you have any specific concerns or issues with your teeth, gums or appearance of your smile.
With the help of the Dental Assistant, your Dentist will then assess the current condition of your teeth and gums.
The Dentist may request that digital dental x-rays be taken of your teeth and gums during your check-up. A dental x-ray is the only accurate way that the dentist can ‘see’ between the teeth and under fillings.
X-rays allow the dentist to detect problems in areas not visible during visual examination, for example a cavity under an existing filling.
There are different ways to make your dental treatment more relaxing. Nitrous Oxide (known as happy gas or laughing gas) is one of the options. Your dentist can discuss all available options with you.
Amalgam is a metal alloy including silver, small amounts of mercury and other metals. Composite is a plastic resin based material. There are many factors to consider when selecting the filling material. Your dentist can discuss with you the most appropriate material for your individual situation.

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides eligible families with children aged 2-17 years old with access to a benefit of $1000* for eligible dental services over a 2 calendar year period.

The CDBS continues to be means tested, which requires of Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment.

There are three types of x-rays that your Dentist may suggest:
Your Dentist may also offer you a scale and clean to remove tartar build-ups. A professionally applied fluoride application may also be offered to assist in the reduction of dental decay and decrease the sensitivity of your teeth.
At the end of your check-up, your Dentist will discuss the condition of your teeth and gums and outline any suggested treatment options with you. They will provide you with all the information required for you to make a decision if treatment is required. Prior to any future appointments or commencement of work, your Dentist will provide you with a personalised treatment plan outlining treatment options, necessary appointments and fees.
At the conclusion of your appointment, your Dental Assistant will lead you back to reception for payment, health fund claiming and booking of additional appointments.
If you do not need to make additional appointments for treatment, you can either make an appointment for your next six monthly check-up at this time or wait until you receive an appointment reminder.
